We introduce you to the Next Generation SMEs project on succession planning, an Erasmus+ project that involves partners from Malta as coordinator, Spain, Italy, Germany, Cyprus and Belgium. The objective of the project is to create awareness and education on the issues related to succession planning for small family run businesses which you will agree is an issue that can have very negative effects on business sustainability and continued growth across generations.
As part of the project, each partner organized 2 workshops, one for stakeholders (entrepreneurs or successors and one for policymakers (chambers of commerce, banks, associations). The workshop focused on dialogue and exchange between generations of entrepreneurs and policymakers, addressing current challenges such as digitalization, succession, bureaucratic obstacles and related issues.
The next step is to run an international webinar that will see the participation of almost 100 attendees from the 6 countries represented by the project partners: Malta, Spain, Italy, Germany, Cyprus and Belgium.
